This 8,700-sf fire station was complete in March of 2011 for the Fire District of Star, Idaho. The station includes private living accommodations for up to six full-time firemen. Accommodations include: dorm rooms, shower and bath facilities, laundry room, full kitchen with dining and storage, living area, patio, and a recreation area.
The equipment and apparatus bay area includes room for four large fire trucks, bay laundry, toilet and shower facilities, and several storage rooms. Additional features in this area include large ceiling fans for air and heat circulation, suspended gas fired heaters, and sloped floors to trench drains designed to quickly remove any water which may accumulate as trucks return.
