Meridian Pediatrics, an 8,000-sf facility design for the care of children, is located off Locust Grove in Meridian, Idaho. Uniquely, when entering the building parents and patients are greeted by a large airplane suspended from a wood T&G ceiling and a model train circulating the waiting area. This slab on grade wood framed building incorporates both a flat roof TPO system and a pitched roof with asphalt shingles. Composed mostly of full height storefront along the eastern elevation, the design enables exterior daylight into the core of the building. The facility is designed with two pods containing 12 exam rooms, easily accessible and visible from the nurses’ station. In 2009, this building project was nominated as one of “Idaho’s Top Projects.”
